Abstract


Objective:To understand the anatomical form of the nose of the adult people of Taiyuan area in north China, and explore the calculation method of the volume of external nose, in order that provide reference for nasal cosmetic surgery and reconstructive surgery of nasal deformities.Methods:1.The nasal soft tissue of adult normal was rebuit by SCT.2.Mark the landmark point from the front,side, faceup respectively with the mouse on the screen, and measure every value by related software after reconstruction by using related soft ware.3Calculate the volume of external nose.Results:From the study we can acquired a total Of 15 two-dimensional and three dimensional mean values which can reflect the features of the external nose. The study shows that there is no significant difference in the distance between the highest point of the nostril axis between the female and male in Taiyuan (P> 0.05), however, there is obvious difference in other 14 measurements (P< 0.01).The nose of the adult male of Han nationality in Taiyuan area is bigger, more forceful and higher, in addition, the outline of the male nose is more clearly than women. Normal value databank of external nasal volume was established on male and female noses.Conclusion:It was accurate to measure the values of nose apllying SCT 3D reconstruction image and correlated software; external nasal volume can be obtained by using several line measurement. The measurement results can provide some essential reference for nasal aesthetics, plastic surgery and anthropology, etc.
