Objective:To understand the vocational medical students’ knowledge, attitudes, high-risk behavior related to AIDS, analyze the effectiveness of AIDS health education, provides science evidence for the college to drawing health education strategy.Methods:By random cluster sampling, selected medical students as the research object in 8 higher vocational medical college of Shanxi. With the method of questionnaire and intervention, the knowledge, attitudes, high-risk behavior on AIDS of medical vocational students is investigated and researched.Results:1.Investment results:1.1 Female student accounts for 80.7%, the average age is 19.29±1.12.1.2 Vocational medical students got the AIDS information mainly from television, newspapers, magazines, networks, only 25.1% from the course of school.1.3 The total score of AIDS knowledge was 16.5 points, there was statistically significant difference between different sex group(t=3.147, p<0.01)and age group(F=27.207, p< 0.01),lower within under 18 ages group; The total score of attitude is 82.15, was in the media level totally, the boys’ score was significantly lower than girls’(t=-3.657,p<0.01), different age group had different knowledge score, and the difference had statistic significance (F=4.196, p <0.01); The total score of high-risk behavior is 0.17, boys are more vulnerable to high-risk behavior than girls (t=2.081, p= 0.038), and significant differences between age groups (F=28.105, p<0.01), the high-risk behavior scores significantly increased in the group which who have had sexual intercourse (t=8.652, p=0.000).1.4 AIDS-related knowledge and attitudes were positively correlated, both negatively correlated with the high-risk behavior.1.5 Higher medical students that (60.9%), school health education of AIDS mainly through classroom education, publicity columns and feature lectures,75.6% of the students considered it necessary to set up a compulsory or AIDS-related knowledge, elective. 1.5 60.9% of the students agreed their available knowledge of AIDS was not enough; The paths of AIDS health education mainly through classroom education, publicity columns and special lectures in higher vocational medical college;75.6% of them thought that setting up the AIDS health education was necessary.2 Intervention studies2.1 The each group has 65and 53 medical students before and after intervention, and the average age is 18 years old, the characteristics were balanced between the two groups.2.2 The score of AIDS knowledge was 23.75 after the intervention, it increased7.21 significantly after intervention totally (t=--11.464,p<0.01),and increased2.73、2.61、1.89 of three part (p<0.01). The knowledge had the relatively low scores in baseline survey, been increased significantly.2.3 The score of attitude was 88.11 after the intervention, does not have a statistically significant (t=-1.675,p>0.05), except the attitude to HIV infected persons and AIDS patients.2.4 The proportion of the students who thought had enough available knowledge of AIDS increased with statistical difference (χ2=15.200,p<0.01).Conclusion:Vocational have a lower AIDS awareness, and health education can significantly increase the level of knowledge of AIDS; they have strong demands on AIDS, and college should develop AIDS health education to improve students’ cognition level of AIDS, and carry out AIDS health education curriculum for the characteristics of vocational medical students.
