Abstract


Water imagery occupies an important position in traditional Chinese literature , identified one of the most frequent image is used in Chinese classical poetry . Traditional study of classical Chinese poetry in the Water Image start from the aesthetic and cultural aspects . The Cognitive Linguistics development provides a new perspective for the interpretation of the poetic image in Chinese classical poetry . This paper aims to conceptual integration theory based on analysis of water imagery in classical Chinese poetry , thus demonstrating the concept of synthesis is widespread cognitive mechanisms and has the strong explanatory power . This thesis is not only a new perspective for the appreciation of classical Chinese poetry in the water imagery , but also to help people to more in-depth understanding of the concept of integration of the emerging theory .
