Abstract


Nowadays, climate change issue has gradually shaped some major ideas and rules, while arguments are still existing. It is treated as a global problem, but increasingly involved with national and group interests. It is naturally an environmental issue, but now more like a political, economic, philosophic, scientific and technological one. In conclusion, climate change is an important issue deeply concerned by all nations and even the whole international community. With the gloomy completion of Copenhagen Conference (COP15),how to handle the climate change negotiation during the post-Kyoto Protocol era will be an inevitable problem, which should be solved as soon as possible. So studying the international climate change conventions and its negotiation course with game theory can better uncover the intricate veil of negotiation, deeply analyze the factors that impact the negotiation, figure out the key elements leading to the successful negotiation, and then based on these analysis, it will be easier to estimate the trend for future negotiation and also be helpful for China to choose its own strategies in the future climate change negotiation.This paper is introduced with non-cooperative game theory, pointing out the defects of“zero-sum”of non-cooperative game in the public environmental treatment. And then, taking international climate change convention and its negotiation course as the example, indicates the necessity and channel towards the“win-win”cooperative game. Finally, through the comparison and analysis with Montreal Protocol, it discovers 3 key factors that impact cooperative game on climate change issue: science and technology, mechanism for performance guarantee, and public opinion, which can thus leave China some enlightenment for its future negotiation on international climate change.
