Abstract


Regional atlas as carriers of regional geographic information, people's systems, intuitive, and accurate understanding of an important tool in the area of ??natural, economic and social profiles and visual form. Map symbol design is an important part of the Atlas of the preparation has an important position and role, map symbols design a direct impact on the design level and use the value of the atlas. The paper combines Qingyang City, Atlas and Jiuquan City, the preparation and publication of the Atlas task using the theory of cartography and desktop mapping software Coreldraw12.0 depth around the establishment and application of regional comprehensive atlas symbol design and symbol library research.
