Adrenomedullin and CGRP Expression and Their Relationship in Pituitary Adenomas and Nontumoral Adenohypophyses

Abstract


Objective: by adrenomedullin (adrenom edu llin, ADM) of invasive and non- invasive pituitary adenomas (pituitary adenoma) and non- neoplastic anterior pituitary tissue (nontumoral adenohypophySiS) and calcitonin gene- related peptide (calciton in generelated peptide , CGRP) in immunoassay explore ADM and CGRP in pituitary adenomas and non-neoplastic anterior pituitary tissue distribution and its significance , and provide theoretical and experimental evidence for the diagnosis and treatment of pituitary adenomas . Methods: SABC immunohistochemical method , randomly selected 42 patients with pituitary adenoma , 32 cases ( including invasive and non- invasive 10 Second Xiangya Hospital of Neurosurgery ( January 2002 - January ) , 557 cases of pituitary tumors cases) and nine cases of non-neoplastic anterior pituitary tissue ( paraffin blocks from the Department of Pathology autopsy specimens) to detect the expression of ADM and CGRP , multifunction true color pathological analysis system ( the center of the image by the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics ) immunohistochemistry analysis : coloring the extent of positive cells in each slice to calculate the average optical density (MOD) for analysis . Results: 42 patients with pituitary adenomas and nine cases of non-neoplastic pituitary glands of both visible positive expression of ADM and CGRP varying degrees of non-neoplastic pituitary glands of non - invasive pituitary adenomas , and all levels of invasive pituitary adenomas between ADM and CGRP expression between the existence of a significant difference (P <0.05), non- invasive and invasive pituitary adenomas at all levels between any two showed a significant difference ( P <0.05 ) at all levels of invasive pituitary adenomas was no significant difference ( P > 0.05 ) . Between ADM expression and the expression of CGRP significantly correlated (Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.536 , P <0.01 ) . Significant difference ( P <0.05 ) between any two . Conclusion: ADM and CGRP in non-neoplastic pituitary glands of pituitary adenomas were expressed , and expression in invasive pituitary adenomas compared with non- invasive pituitary adenomas and non- neoplastic anterior pituitary expression was significantly higher in the organization , is closely related to the invasiveness of pituitary adenomas ; linear relationship between ADM and CGRP expression study of pathophysiological mechanisms of normal anterior pituitary tissue and pituitary adenoma pituitary adenoma invasive research has important meaning to lay a good theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of pituitary adenomas .
