Objective: To evaluate holmium laser combined with transurethral resection after treatment with traditional open surgery , urethral stricture and atresia efficacy and safety . Methods: 40 cases of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, posterior urethral stricture and atresia patients underwent surgery in September 2005 to October 2007 , in which 18 patients with holmium laser combined transurethral incision of the urethral stricture , 22 cases underwent traditional open surgical removal of scar urethral anastomosis . All patients were followed up for 6-12 months, an average of 9 months , monitored and recorded in two groups of patients and postoperative clinical indicators , including operative time , blood loss , indwelling catheter time postoperative urethral dilation times , hospitalized time , the cure rate and urinary incontinence , urinary extravasation and secondary bleeding complications . Statistical analysis was performed , the clinical efficacy of the two groups were compared . Results: 1. Holmium laser combined with TURP group and open surgery group after treatment of urethral stricture and atresia operative time was 48.3 Guests 7.2min , 129.3 ± 4.3min, blood loss , respectively lt ; 25ml, 256.7 disabilities 12.3 ml . The obvious difference between the two groups . (p lt; 0.05) 2. holmium laser combined with TURP group and open surgery group after treatment of urethral stricture and atresia postoperative indwelling catheter time was 14.3 Guests 1.4d , 30.7 Guests 5.4d , length of hospital stay were 17.3 Guests 5.8d , 24.7 ± 4.1d. The two groups , there is a significant difference ( P lt; 0.05 ) . 3 patients were followed up for 6-12 months , with an average follow - up of 9 months . Holmium laser combined with transurethral resection group and the open surgery group , the postoperative urethral times were 17.7 Guests 1.4 , 14.5 ± 1.2 , and no significant difference between the number of postoperative urethral dilation group ( p gt; 0.05 ) . Postoperative holmium laser group no cases of urinary incontinence and impotence , open group one cases of urinary incontinence , and three cases of impotence cases . Holmium laser is a joint group of 18 patients , 15 patients with the surgery cured, the cure rate was 83.3% ; open group of 22 patients , 19 cases a successful surgery , the cure rate was 86.3% , no significant difference . Conclusion: holmium laser urethrotomy joint electric cut urethral incision is the preferred method of treatment with simple urethral stricture . Open surgery in the treatment of complex urethral stricture has obvious advantages, but solve a urethral stricture final method .
