Abstract

Objective: To study macrophages , mast cells , monocyte chemoattractant protein -1 ( MCP - 1 ) and to further explore the expression of macrophages and low back pain lumbar disc degeneration , highlight the pathogenesis related provide a theoretical basis for the etiology and treatment of lumbar disc . Methods : The experimental group patients with lumbar disc herniation of nucleus pulposus specimens of 48 cases , 22 cases, including outer fibrous ring complete after rupture of the outer fibrous ring 26 cases . Drawn parts of the adjacent nerve root prominent organizations ( within the range of 0.5 cm from the nerve root ) in the control group for spinal trauma patients nucleus pulposus specimens of 10 cases . Preoperative pain score for all patients with low back pain ODI . Immunohistochemical method to detect the expression of macrophages and mast cells in the specimens , and analyze the expression of macrophages in patients with low back pain in the experimental group relationship ; respectively by immunohistochemistry and semi- quantitative RT-PCR method MCP-1 expression in the experimental group and the control group in the study on protein and mRNA levels . Results: (1 ) macrophages , MCP-1 expression in the lumbar disc experimental group was significantly higher than the trauma control group ( P lt ; 0.01 ) . In the experimental group , the outer annulus rupture macrophages , MCP - 1 expression was significantly higher than the outer fibrous ring complete ( P lt ; 0.01 ) . (2) different pathological types of lumbar disc herniation in patients with low back pain ODI score were significantly different ( P lt ; 0.01 ) , low back pain ODI score in the preoperative lumbar disc tissue macrophage expression is closely related to ( r = 0.748 , P lt ; 0.01 ) (3) mast cells expressed only in a handful of prominent organizations , no significant difference in the expression of prominent groups and trauma control group ( P gt ; 0.05 ) . Conclusion: macrophages , MCP-1 to participate in the lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration , prominent in the pathogenesis ; along with the progress of lumbar disc degeneration , macrophages , MCP - 1 's expression gradually increased ; intervertebral disc cells with expression of MCP-1 capacity ; herniated disc tissue inflammation and degree of response of clinical symptoms is closely related . Mast cells and release media and clinical disc degeneration have no apparent relationship .
