Objective To investigate the class of heparin-binding epidermal growth factor (Heparin Binding EpidermalGrowth Factor-like Growth Factor, HB-EGF) to promote the role of less volume after liver transplantation liver regeneration in rats . Method using a modified two-cuff technique for orthotopic reduced-size liver transplantation model , divided into experimental and control groups , HB-EGF (500μg/kg) were given immediately after the tail vein and the same volume of saline , 2 times / d. Two groups in postoperative 6h , 2,4,7 d randomly picked five rats were killed , said take graft wet weight , blood serum alanine aminotransferase and albumin , detected by flow cytometry after liver transplantation proliferative activity , immunohistochemistry assay transplanted liver Ki-67 expression . Results 6h , 2,4 d wet weight of the graft of the experimental group compared with the control group significantly increased the same time period ; after 6h 2,4,7 d experimental serum alanine aminotransferase levels compared with the control group of the same time period significantly reduced (P <0.05,), 4,7 d albumin levels compared with the control group of the same period was significantly higher ( P <0.05 ) ; transplanted liver proliferation index after 2,4 d, the experimental group compared with the control group ( P <0.05 ) and Ki-67 expression . Conclusion rat orthotopic reduced-size liver after liver transplantation using the HB-EGF can significantly promote the regeneration of transplanted hepatocytes .
