Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlation among mammographic features, and estrogen /progesterone receptor (ER,PR) of the breast cancer .The biologic behavior and prognosis can be assessed according to mammographic features, which can provide evidence for clinical treatment planning of breast cancer. Methods The mammographic features of 60 cases of breast cancer confirm by surgery and histology were analyzed retrospectively. The mastectomy specimens of the breast cancer were stained with immunohistochemistry, and the expression of estrogenreceptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) were measured .The relationship between the immunohistochemical pathologic results and mammographic features were analyzed. Results Among the 60 cases of breast cancers, the positive expression rates of receptor of tumor size >5cm were higher than in others .the mass of mammographic features were related to expression of PR ,although there were no significant statistically difference(P>0.05).the expression of PR in 41cases breast cancers with spiculated sign were higher than without speculated sign, there were significant statistically difference(P<0.01),PR positive expression was positively correlated with the spiculated margin (P < 0.01). The expressions of ER and PR with withoutcalcification sign were higher than calcification sign, the positive expression rateswere73.5% and 79.4% respectively. Calcification of breast cancer were correlatedwith the expression of ER and PR (p<0.01). There were significant statisticallydifference (P<0.01).Conclusion There exist some correlation among mammographic features pathologyand estrogen /progesterone receptor in breast cancer to certain extent .The biologicbehavior and prognosis can be assessed according to mammographic features, whichcan provide evidence for clinical treatment planning of breast cancer
