Abstract


With the development of globalization and China's entry into the WTO, the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games approaching, more and more frequent international exchanges. Our country is also taking measures to deepen reform and opening up policy, will be followed by a growing number of international exchanges and cooperation, which will lead to the pressing social need to have full diplomatic personnel of intercultural communicative competence. How to make English teaching to cater to the needs of social and economic development, and how to improve students' intercultural communicative competence proposed new requirements for English teachers and English teaching. Junior high school English teaching in the basic stage, so this part of the focus on students' intercultural awareness training, new curriculum standards as an important content. High school English teachers facing the new challenges of the culture and knowledge of English language teaching, however, due to our test system, the academic level of teachers and students learning styles, cultural teaching in secondary schools is still very weak and poor, the students' intercultural communicative competence In real life, we can see that some students still found after years of learning English with people from English-speaking countries exchange difficulties still exist, and the reason for this is the lack of background knowledge of Western culture. Since the relationship between language and culture is so close means that if a person does not know the meaning of the language of culture is not really grasp the language the essence. The purpose of a successful English teaching is to develop good communication skills of English learners, but the barriers to learning English often come from the learners' lack of cultural knowledge. Language and culture are inseparable, do not understand the English culture did not really master the language. This shows that the language learning process is to obtain knowledge of the language and cultural connotation in order to achieve the purpose of communication. The cultural teaching must rise to a certain height in the middle school English teaching. So junior secondary students not only to master the vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation correct, but also the proper understanding of the relationship between language teaching and cross-cultural learning. This means that our penetration of the cross-cultural teaching in junior secondary English teaching to enhance students' cross-cultural awareness. Cultural understanding, analyzing the need for cross-cultural teaching, to explore some of the problems existing in the junior high school English teaching, as well as cross-cultural teaching approaches. Develop students 'cross-cultural awareness, and enhance the ability of the students' cultural sensitivity and flexibility in the use of various means of communication, so that students with English Intercultural Communication.
