Abstract

With increasingly economy globalization and international competition, industrial cluster has become a phenomenon and the technological advancement has also become the incentive to the economy activities. In the newly economy era, technology spillover, a specific form of the inter-industry transfer and diffusion of technological advance, is increasingly playing an important role in the industrial competition and development. As industrial cluster is a kind of industrial organization which can promote the development of technological level effectively, the paper combines the clustering effect and technical economics into together. Furthermore, it does research in both theoretical and empirical way and takes China’s high-tech industry as an example to analyze the technological diffusion model and spillover mechanism under the industrial cluster.The thesis is divided into six parts. First the paper points out the research background and meaning, and then it defines some related concepts and analyzes the relationship between industrial cluster and technological diffusion according to the research on this issue. The third part is the analysis of different diffusion models. According to the assumption, it is proved that there exits technological diffusion under the industrial cluster and there are also different reflections according to the firm behaviors. The forth part focuses on the inter-industry technology spillover mechanism. The paper designs a mathematical model according to the "C-D" production function and classifies it into product-connotated and capital-connotated. And next, it analyzes the industrial cluster affected by the technological diffusion from both the positive and negative sides. Finally, the paper selects five industries in China’s high-tech industrial cluster as the empirical research objects and determines the degree of its technology spillover effects.The innovation of this paper lies that it analyzes the industrial cluster affected by the technological diffusion from two sides. Moreover, it regards "industry" as a unit of technology spillover and absorption, and discusses the spillover effect according to the "C-D" production function. As to the econometrics model construction, it utilizes the panel data to examine the technology spillover effects between five industries under the China’s high-tech industry. Furthermore, the paper takes the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis together and combines the theory and practice effectively by using the Industrial Economics, Technical Economics, Regional Economics and Econometrics. Based on the characteristics of inter-industry technology spillover, it measures the effects between them and also promotes some suggestions for the future developments.
