Abstract


The veranda is the space morphous which has extraordinary vitality. Nowadays it can be seen everywhere in the buildings around the college campus. The major question we want to answer is the reason why the veranda can be used so widely, what role it makes in the campus building and how to make the constructor know it deeply and better utilize it to affluence the campus.The veranda space is used as the cut-in point in my thesis. We analyze the different kinds of contributions which were made by the veranda to the improving of the campus building, and then we propose the concept of the campus veranda. From analyzing the veranda space of the campus including the basis attribute, category and morphological character, We get the destination and the principle in designing the campus veranda. Integrating the exact examples in two characters of the thesis, We summary the design method from the noumenon morphous and the organization structure of the campus veranda. The noumenon morphous is the basis of the veranda space designing, from analyzing the exterior and inner influencing factors, We directly summarize the design method from the dimension, inside surface and space of the inner and the morphological consider the outside surface and porch space. The organization structure is based on the angle of the whole campus buildings, the veattern which the veranda makes a major role in the building, the other includes formatting pattern and courtyard pattern as a secondary role.The thesis has a great quantity of complete and detailed examples, and lays particular emphasis on analyzing contrasting and summarizing. We have investigated lots of famous colleges including HongKong and Macao, and get the firsthand documents on the spot; a great number of pictures are used to assist our illustrations.
