Objective: to observe and analyze the NRP-1 (neuropilin-1) and VEGF expression in colorectal adenomas and colorectal carcinomas results discussed NRP-1 biological role in the development and progression of colorectal adenocarcinoma. Methods: Immunohistochemistry SP method (Streptavidin peroxidase biotin) were detected in 66 patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma and 65 cases of colorectal adenomas NRP-1, the expression of VEGF analysis of colorectal adenoma and colorectal adenocarcinoma NRP -1, the relationship between VEGF expression and clinicopathological characteristics as well as the correlation between the experimental results by SPSS statistical software for data analysis. Results: (1) the NRP-1 and VEGF in colorectal carcinomas staining intensity was significantly higher than that of colorectal adenomas, colorectal adenocarcinoma staining intensity - colorectal adenomas staining intensity - after Statistics analysis, both groups were significantly different (NRP-1 group: P lt; 0.05 VEGF group: P lt; 0.05). (2) the degree of differentiation of the NRP-1 and VEGF expression in colorectal adenocarcinoma tissue, Dukes stage, poorly differentiated group staining intensity stronger than in well-differentiated groups, Dukes stage C and D of staining intensity stronger than A, B period, statistical analysis, there are significant difference (P lt; 0.05); their expression with age, sex, tumor location, no significant correlation, statistical analysis, no significant differences (P gt; 0.05) . (3) NRP-1 and VEGF expression in colorectal adenomas and pathological type dysplasia grade, the tubulovillous adenoma tissue staining intensity stronger than tubular adenomas, in high-grade dysplasia the adenomatous tissue staining intensity low dysplasia adenomas, statistical analysis, there is a significant difference (P lt; 0.05). (4) Spearman correlation analysis showed that NRP-1 and VEGF expression in colorectal adenocarcinoma showed a positive correlation (r = 0.576, P lt; 0.05), with the increased organization NRP-1 expression, VEGF expression also increased . Conclusions: (1) NRP-1 gradient expression in colorectal adenoma and colorectal adenocarcinoma difference significant, suggesting that NRP-1 may be involved in the occurrence of colorectal adenocarcinoma; (2) NRP-1 in colorectal carcinomas statistically significant difference in the expression of differentiation, Dukes stage, suggesting that NRP-1 may be an adverse prognostic factor in colorectal adenocarcinoma; (3) NRP-1 expression in colorectal adenomas and pathological type and dysplasia grade statistics learning differences, suggesting that NRP-1 may be involved in the process of adenoma colon adenocarcinoma monitoring indicators; (4) NRP-1 and VEGF expression in colorectal carcinomas were positively correlated, suggesting that NRP-1 may synergistic with VEGF, or enhance the biological role of VEGF in promoting the development of colorectal adenocarcinoma angiogenesis and the occurrence of colorectal adenocarcinoma.
