Abstract


During drilling, drilling cuttings, drilling fluid and other waste, especially organic polymer, inorganic salt, oil and heavy metals and other toxic substances that contained in waste drilling fluids will pollute the environment seriously. With the improvement of people’s awareness of environmental protection and national environmental laws, more strict requirements on the enviromental protection of drilling fluid used in drilling process are putted forward.Environmental protetive drilling fluid is a new drilling fluid system that can not only protect the environment but also can satisfy the requirement of drilling engineering. Based on the analysis of chemical toxicity, biological toxicity and biological degradation of the existing drilling and completion fluid additives and drillg fluid systems of Shengli Oilfield, a new environmental protetive drilling fluid which can not only protecting reservoir but also has a good environmental performance was developed.Lab experiments and field applications show that this drilling fluid system is non-toxic and environment acceptable, with excellent inhibition performance. It can protected reservoir very well.
