Abstract

This paper focuses on the mechanism impact of green trade barriers on household appliance enterprises’ competitiveness in the international market,and the positive and negative impacts on the international competitiveness of household appliance enterprises in Shandong Province,and what countermeasures Shandong Provincial household appliance enterprises should take.Systematic approach is adopted in the context to combine the green trade barriers with the international competitiveness of provincial household appliance enterprises.Qualitative and quantitative analysis are taken to analyze the survival factors of the Shandong Provincial household appliance enterprises. Through active research to find out the gap compared with the advanced standards,we should actively improve our products and enhance international competitiveness, therefore obtain the international market passport.This paper consists of seven parts,the fast part focuses on the background of green trade barriers at home and abroad and on the status quo,and this paper’s content and method.WEEE and ROHS affect provincial household appliance greatly,which caused deeply research.The second section focuses on the presentation of the international competitiveness,the causes,meaning and theoretical development.International competitiveness refers to a country’s ability in the international division,it is a comparative productivity.Marxist classical writers on the competitiveness theory of international trade and competition and Michael Porter’s competitive edge theory to international competitiveness have contributed to the developmentPartⅢfocuses on the meaning of green trade barriers,its arising and characteristics. Green trade barriers arising from the irrational environmental standards and environmental protection measures derived from international trade agreements and regulations,technology,conventions,and the system,is a derivative.It has characteristics of a dual nature,complexity and the controversial nature.PartⅣfocuses on how green trade barriers affect the international competitiveness of household enterprises,how to change the method and performance of the international competitiveness Of household enterprises.Green technology innovation has become a major international competition method.The use of green technology means improving its international competitiveness but also increases costs,which affects the performance of international competition.PartⅤfocuses on the impact of green trade barriers on international competitiveness of Shandong Provincial household appliance enterprises,summarizing the status quo of such enterprises and assessing its international competitiveness and positive and negative impact under green trade barriers.Haier,Hisense and Aucma,as the representatives of the household appliance enterprises in Shandong Province have become internationally famous brand,their market share,brand competitiveness,trade competitiveness index, the level of technological innovation have strong international competitiveness,It also points out that green technological innovation,green marketing of household appliance enterprises have yet to be improvedPartⅥemphasizes on some green practices of how to improve international competitiveness for some foreign leading-appliance-brands-enterprises in Japan,Europe and the United States.Green technology innovation,use of green marketing strategies, and creating a green corporate culture become magic weapon of competition for these internationally-famous brand household appliancesPartⅦfocuses on Haier’s practices of how to breakthrough green trade barriers. Shandong enterprises should strengthen their green technology research and application; take green marketing strategy;cultivate green corporate culture;enhance brand’s green visibility;implement international strategy and take reasonable measures to avoid green trade barriers.
