Abstract

The method of this study the use of the physical blend and the reactive compatibilizer high toughness of the polylactic acid (PLA) were prepared blends. The thesis is divided into three parts, the first part of the study the content of non-biodegradable elastomeric ethylene - ethyl acrylate - methyl acrylate glycerides (E-MA-GMA) PLA toughening modified. Via infrared and rheological analysis showed that E-MA-GMA-terminal carboxyl group of the epoxy functional groups and the PLA, and the terminal hydroxyl of the reaction occurs, generate a graft copolymer, and play a role in situ compatibilizer. Mechanical testing and SEM study found: with the content of the elastomer to increase the toughness of PLA is significantly improved when adding 10wt% E-MA-GMA ductile fracture by brittle fracture transition, when adding 20wt% E-MA-GMA total The impact strength and elongation at break of the blend than pure PLA were increased by 329.7% and 1400%. Since a certain degree of cross-linking reaction of the epoxy functional groups of the occurrence of excessive such that the dispersed phase E-MA-GMA particle diameter increases as the content increased somewhat. DSC analysis found that the addition of E-MA-GMA weaken the PLA crystallization. The second part of the study the compatibility of the impact of the high reactivity of the different content of oligomer PAPI incompatible blends of PLA / PBAT. Infrared analysis found PAPI the isocyanate functional groups with PLA PBAT terminal hydroxyl and terminal carboxyl reaction generates graft copolymer. DMA analysis found that the Tg of the PLA and PBAT close to each other, both compatibility improved. TEM observation that the particle size of the dispersed phase PBAT smaller gradually as the PAPI content increases, dispersing more uniformly generated graft copolymer also found distributed in the phase of the phase interface and PBAT. Mechanical testing and scanning electron microscopy study found: as the PAPI content increases, the toughness of the blends significantly improve, add 5 and 10phr PAPI, impact strength than PLA / PBAT blends increased 622.7% and 541.0%, respectively; also found that the relative interface changes from clear to fuzzy impact fracture by flat to rough. DSC analysis found that the PAPI adding weaken the crystallization ability of PLA. Dynamic Rheology Test description With PAPI content increases, the blend η *, G 'and G'' gradually increased shear thinning behavior gradually increased. The last part by mechanical property testing different compatibilizer compatibility of PLA / PBAT incompatible blends preliminary study. The study found compatible agent is added in varying degrees to improve the toughness of the blends, but also reduced to varying degrees of strength of the blend, the compatibilization effect of the compatibilizing agent is: E / GMA-g-PMMA GT; E -MA-GMA gt; E-GMA gt; E / GMA-g-PSAN gt; E / GMA-g-PS.
