Abstract


Currently, low-earth orbit (Low Earth Orbit, LEO) satellite communications due to its many advantages, to become one of the hot spots of the Communications Research. However, with the development of LEO satellite communications, also faces the same challenges and terrestrial mobile communications, it is more and more users and network quality is getting higher and higher, making the LEO satellite communication network mobility management faces challenge. The traditional location management technology can not meet the requirements of the people, so the location of the LEO satellite network management strategy needs to be optimized and improved. In addition, because of the particularity of the LEO satellite mobile communication system: the establishment of a long cycle, huge investment, after the completion of structural change difficult characteristics must accurate simulation of system engineering, there is an urgent need to find a meet conditions simulation method. According to the characteristics of LEO satellite network optimize the location management strategy, wherein the location update for the design of the location management and location paging two aspects. In addition, the combination of the proposed strategy, design OPNET-based simulation platform. The first chapter begins with a brief overview of the LEO satellite mobile communication system, then were summarized on the location of the LEO satellite communication system management technology, and pointed out that the content and structure of this study arrangements. Chapter II study location management location update optimization design. Reduce the system location management overhead by reducing the cost of location update based on location paging consideration. Pointer and regional registration based dynamic location management strategy, introduced a dynamic regional district and sub-regional district concept, combined with forward pointers and dynamic management advantages, can significantly reduce the location update price. In the third chapter, mainly for the location management position paging part to be optimized. Not raise the basis of the consideration of the location update, the location management is achieved by reducing location paging overhead optimization. In the fourth chapter, combined with the characteristics of LEO satellite network as well as the advantage of OPNET simulation software: the OPNET simulation support satellite orbit, can import the STK track file, very precise satellite position coordinates of each moment, design simulation platform. And on this platform mobility management simulation, the pros and cons of different mobility management strategy, the engineering of the system has a certain reference.
