Abstract


Small and Medium-sized Commercial Banks(SMCBs),such as city commercial banks and country credit cooperatives, are the results of commercial bank system transformation in China. In the past decades , SMCBs have acquired great development, and have become an important part in financial system. The development of these banks also promotes economy development and system transformation. With further opening up in banking sector and deregulation of interest rate , SMCBs will encounter severe competition from foreign and domestic counterparts,and their risk exposures will be greater; Because of late of risk management commencement, and the risk management opinion of officer can’t match the need of development of risk management and daily operations; the innovation of the financial products and use of financial derivatives drop behind that of western countries, and risk management instruments of developed countries can not be used very well in our country. Under such background,it is meaningful to have a close study on risk management of SMCBs.With interesting in SMCBs,this dissertation tries to find out their risks,example for city banks of Xinjiang area, and to analyses risks,then this dissertation gives some suggestions on the management of risks.The innovation of this dissertation lies in that risk management of SMCBs is chosen to be analyzed. From SMCBs point, some suggestions are put forward. Now,risk management can be seen as a core competence of banks,so SMCBs should pay more attention to risk management.
