Abstract


Since nearly two decades , an important branch of cognitive psychology - Constructivist more and more attention , particularly in the field of education . The core content of constructivist pedagogy : a student-centered , emphasizing the active exploration of students ' knowledge , the initiative found that active construction of knowledge significance (rather than as traditional teaching , just to transfer knowledge from teachers' minds student 's notebook ) . The most important interactive objects as a student , teacher classroom teaching behavior has a significant impact on students' personal development . According to the the constructivist educational point of view , the teachers ' beliefs affect their teaching behavior more than the teachers' knowledge . Therefore , teachers should make full awareness of their own teaching beliefs and understanding of the interaction between teaching behavior and students is an important part of students to construct knowledge . In this paper, the descriptive qualitative research methods , conducted a case study on the relationship between the English teachers by the constructivist theory of beliefs to their classroom practice . First, through interviews with teachers to explore the basic understanding of teachers' beliefs and their own students and learning beliefs. Followed by a survey of teachers to understand their awareness and implementation of the intermediary role . The last questionnaires to students and author lectures record to test whether teachers' beliefs reflected in the behavior of their classroom teaching . The present study demonstrates that the beliefs of the teachers are not only highly affect their classroom practice , but also greatly affect the students ' interest in learning . Therefore , teachers should pay full attention to their own teaching beliefs , and aware of the various factors that affect their beliefs . Teachers should continue to reflect on their own teaching beliefs , and update their teaching philosophy , continuing to explore the advanced mode of teaching , in order to optimize the teaching process .
