Abstract


Component based development has changed the methods of information system developing fundamentally and will become the main development direction in the future. However, the theory and method of component based development is not mature in the present, and there is a certain distance from actual application, especially the research of business component design which is the core content has been still in the phase of exploration. This paper has made a study of business component design of the enterprise information system, and the focuses are as follows.Firstly, some concepts and definitions of component based information system development are reviewed and CBD is the effective way to solve the inherent rigidity of information system is pointed out. Then, the relationships of component based technique and object oriented technique are discussed as well as the managerial and technical goals of component based development. In addition, a hierarchical architecture and some development principles of component based enterprise information system are proposed.Secondly, by analyzing the definition and features of business component, it is clarified that business component design should be based on the view of business process.The business component model of enterprise information system is presented. Finally, by domain analysis and the abstraction and classification of the domain business, some common, reusable domain knowledge and business units were extracted and the domain business model is established. Later, taking the model as input, using the stability and cohesion of business activity as basis, the business component identification algorithm which is based on the stability of business activity is presented. Based on the previous conclusions, the common steps of business component representation are introduced using XML. In addition, a case of procurement management subsystem for a manufactured enterprise is also proposed in order to explain the process.
