Abstract

Traditional English teaching has been used for \communicative form of teachers 'discourse often takes up too much classroom time, very few students to participate in classroom activities and the opportunity to express views, lack of communication between teachers and students, and the lack of effective training so that students' language ability. Cooperative learning in the past decade has become the main method of classroom teaching abroad. Cooperative learning is a teaching strategy by learners to help each other, to stimulate learners' learning potential to accomplish learning tasks. The students will get a higher self-esteem and more positive social skills at the same time. This has been a large number of research institutes to prove. In recent years, extensive research in the field of foreign language teaching fully reveal the importance of cooperative learning. In fact, the primary task of the foreign language teaching is \The effect of its teaching should be based on student learning, the learning effect depends largely on the initiative and participation of the students. Cooperative pedagogy focus group, in order to maximize their students 'subjective initiative and participation, student-centered teaching activities to organize, emphasizing the learners' awareness of cooperation. Between the partners must comply with the principle of cooperation: cooperation and mutually beneficial in many aspects with the parties to achieve a common or individual goals. The 21st century is the era of knowledge economy, information is an increasingly important position in the life of the production. Access to information, and improve the ability to obtain information critical to the life and development of the individual. English reading is to develop a major way to obtain information capacity. \Throughout the recent years, the college entrance examination, it is not difficult to see that the English reading ability. Not only need long-term accumulation of the students to improve their English reading comprehension teaching quality, solid basic skills and give full play of subjectivity, but also to guide effective teachers and good teaching methods. Advocated cooperative learning in the new curriculum is suitable for English reading comprehension teaching, and help to improve students' reading ability. This thesis focuses on a high school English reading teaching effectiveness of cooperative learning through empirical research and comparative analysis. Played a positive role in promoting inquiry and analysis to improve the teaching and learning of English. Of use of teaching methods based cooperative learning (group stratification scoring method), a one-semester experiment, through questionnaires, personal interviews, and other forms of student reading in English learning before and after the experiment and treat the English attitude were analyzed. The analysis of the data showed that the experimental group cooperative learning teaching methods classroom atmosphere is more active, more inclined to cooperate the way students learn, students' reading ability was further improved. This thesis consists of five parts. The first chapter illustrates the importance and necessity of cooperative learning.
