Abstract


The relationship between language and culture has been the focus of debate at home and abroad linguists. From a theoretical point of view, is now almost no one questioned the need for cultural teaching foreign language teaching, learning foreign languages ??must also learn the culture of the target language, which has become the consensus of the majority of foreign language workers. From a practical point of view, with the full implementation of China's basic education curriculum in the compulsory education stage, with the improvement of the new English curriculum standards as the new English curriculum blueprint and target culture teaching must be a new attitude English courses reform of the role and value. However, foreign language teaching, the cultural teaching how to cultivate the students' cultural awareness is an urgent need to solve the problem. The object of this paper is two schools in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, junior high school English teaching, stage of basic education is a critical period of development of a person's life, and therefore will be particularly important at this stage of the English education. This paper uses literature method, classroom observations and interviews. Text is divided into six parts: the first part of the introduction, mainly elaborated origin of this study, the significance of the study and the basic ideas and methods of the study; second part of the review of the literature, and introduced the teaching of foreign language teaching at home and abroad in cultural development ; The third part of the definition of related concepts and Discrimination, first cultural definition, and then gave a detailed description of the cultural consciousness itself, according to the \English cultural awareness training requirements; fourth part, by analyzing the case and interviews, true reproduction of the status of junior high school English teaching cultural awareness training, study of the status quo and influencing factors of junior high school English teaching high school students cultural awareness training, and then analyzed consciousness and cultural accomplishment of the factors that affect the cultural awareness training: teachers, teaching materials, teaching methods, testing and education environment; fifth part, for the above factors affect the cultural awareness training them to make the appropriate improvement strategies and recommendations, and that cultural awareness training should not be confined to the teaching of cultural content, but rather should be a process of teaching; In conclusion, the author of this thesis, some reflection and thinking, and pending further study and solve the problem. The fourth, five parts and is a core part of this article. The value of this thesis is that, on the one hand, the author-depth school actual, true reproduction of the junior high school English culture teaching students cultural awareness of the status quo; seize the era of curriculum reform on the other hand, according to the objectives and requirements of the English curriculum standards pulse, to explore the issues of cultural awareness training of junior high school English, able to solve the problems in the teaching of English culture, put forward a number of constructive suggestions and strategies to solve. Seeks to promote awareness and understanding of the culture of teaching of high school English teachers; enhance English language teachers training in teaching students cultural awareness, sense of responsibility and sense of mission; provide some scientific and practical significance guidance and junior high school English teaching. This can be considered the cultural significance of language teaching to do a little humble. However, I also recognize that personal power, after all, is limited, and the Institute for the survey is not comprehensive, the experimental school more effective information collected may be more research may be more in-depth and detailed. In short, the implementation of the teaching junior high school English Teaching culture has many urgent need to solve the problem, to make into a culture of teaching purpose systems, effective teaching practices, to truly improve the students' cultural awareness and cross-cultural communication, It also requires that the persistent efforts of educators.
