Abstract


How to improve the efficiency of modern logistic management is one of the most important problems. A little improvement in performance of the logistic system can lead to significant economic benifits for the large-scale distribution center. In the traditional logistic centers, manual intervention accounts for a large proportion within the operations. Thus, it leads to the low efficiency and high error rate. Especially, it is impossible to provide the operation data for the management team to improve the efficiency of logistic operations.In order to establish an efficient distribution center, it is necessary to have a modern management information system adopted. In this paper, the author firstly described the basic operational procedure of logistic center in general. Then, based on above, and considering practical logistic operation system’s particular condition of our own company, the author analysised and described the functional requirement of information system of modern logistic center. And finally, the author designed and implemented these functions in detail.Low efficiency of task distribution is the critical problem existing in logistic operational procedure of modern logistic operation, and author paid main attention to this problem. Essentially, logistic operation task distribution is nearly an NP problem which needs enormous calculation to seek for an optimized distribution algorithm and thus hardly implements in real logistic operation. In order to implement a highly efficient and closest to optimized task distribution solution, the author researched the principle of genetic algorithm deeply, combining with the detailed application requirements of logistic center’s task distribution, the author improved codec and gentic operation algorithms, and designed and implemented high efficient task distribution algorithm suitable for modern logistic information system.This modern logistic information system has been applied in our own company since early of 2006, it runs well and increases efficiency of company’s logistic operation, and it has benefited to our company both in economic and social aspects.
