Optical flow is the movement of the surface of the video image brightness mode optical flow calculation is one of the main methods of dynamic analysis of video images , the domestic and foreign scholars differential optical flow algorithm to match the optical flow algorithm , based on the energy of the optical flow algorithm based phase optical flow algorithm . Further, the optical flow calculation requires large number of iterations , the calculation speed is slow to affect the process of the application of the optical flow techniques . This article first systematic study of the basic theory of optical flow , in-depth analysis of the gradient-based optical flow calculation method , and the need to address the issues are discussed in detail . And then for calculation of the optical flow in at the boundary of the moving target , the gradation non - continuous change is proposed an optical flow calculation method based on the non - continuous region of the gradient , this method on the basis of the smoothness constraint , outline constraint to improve the robustness of the algorithm . Finally , for the problem of slow optical flow computation based multigrid optical flow calculation method , the method using multigrid iteration convergence speed advantages , solving by the optical flow constraint equation, Euler equation , simulation results show that the multigrid method to calculate the optical flow field can obviously reduce the number of iterations , and improve computing speed .
