Abstract


With multimedia information technology and the rapid development of the Internet , as well as consumer electronics products intelligent trend continues to strengthen , embedded systems have penetrated into all aspects of social life . As an important part of embedded systems , embedded operating system has become increasingly important . eCos (embedded Configurable operating system) is an embedded real - time operating system can be configured , suitable for deeply embedded applications , including consumer electronics , telecommunications , automotive equipment , handheld devices , and other low-cost and writing applications , the main application object . eCos open source software is also a completely free , without any copyright restrictions . eCos has a high degree of configurability , scalability , portability and compatibility; sound and free development tools also provide a wide range of hardware support , in line with the direction of the development of embedded systems . It is because of these characteristics , eCos by more and more embedded developers attention , a new generation of embedded operating systems research focus . Firstly for summary exposition of the the eCos basic characteristics and organizational structure , and then the main part of the system kernel - scheduling mechanism , memory management , interrupt handling , exception handling and analysis . Secondly , the eCos with the RT Linux with μCOS open source real - time operating system , comparison , analysis in the multi-task scheduling mechanism , synchronization and communication mechanisms , such as real-time aspects of their own characteristics and performance . The scheduling mechanism is the key to real-time operating system , to analyze and optimize of eCos scheduling algorithm , a systematic analysis of the the eCos scheduler structure as well as commonly used scheduling mechanism Algorithms ( RM , EDF ) . ECos run on the new target platform , you need to transplant its underlying hardware abstraction layer (HAL) , the article also focuses on the hardware abstraction layer principle , eCos platform transplantation method .
