Abstract


3D Relief is a basic part of the visualization system and virtual simulation , 3D terrain generation and modeling techniques with real natural visual effects become increasingly important with the rapid development of visualization and simulation technology . This paper focuses on the real-time rendering of large-scale topographic expression of topography and flight simulation , the main work is as follows : To explore the typical way to obtain the DEM elevation values ??, the main elevation information extracted from the contour map and using fractal for DEM An algorithm for the information . In this paper, the contour bitmap as a fractal control surface fractal quadrilateral midpoint displacement method to obtain values ??, DEM data used in this paper system . Compared with traditional methods , this method is simple , can maintain basic information and full real terrain fractal detail . Terrain simplification algorithm , focusing on the tree structure of the rule-based grid . And then as the basis for building the adaptive triangle binary tree to explore , as the decision function selection , away from the traditional viewpoint on the basis of distance and terrain complexity , increase considering the the flight the viewpoints speed of change factors . VC platform , the air roaming system , the completion of a scene in the terrain , aircraft and sky texture rendering using OpenGL library .
