Abstract


Body language,as a kind of special language phenomen on,is of unique function.It may be functioned as an assistance of language to make the language expression more rich and colorfuL What’s more,sometimes it may even substitute language itself and therefore serves a kind of communicational tools.This paper gives a concise descnption to body language,and attempts to give a detailed discussion about the relationship between body language and chinese teaching as a foreign language.Two parts are devided in this paper.Part 1 :The description of body language.This part describs body language from three parts---the defination,classification and nature of body language .And it also points out that body language has already developed into a separate language type today.It plays an important role in language study and pragmatics study .Part 2:The relationship between body language and chinese teaching as a foreign language.This part is illustrated from three different levels.Level 1 probes into the function of body language in chinese teaching as a foreign language.Level 2 searches the methods of applying body language into chinese teaching as a foreign language.Level 3 points out the key points how teachers should pay attention on itself of body language.in chinese teaching as a foreign language.Throngh the study in part 2 ,the significance of body language theory employed in language communication and usage of language is fully illustrated .The study of body language may be acted from different angles.This paper only gives plain discussion from a certain side.Many problems are saved to be studied later.
