Abstract


Abstract ,China is a large agri.cultuai country with the issues of agriculture , rural area and farmers being essential in its modernization drive. In the past twenty years the reform in the rural are has pushed forward the comprehensive development of its economy and great changes have taken place in the countryside . In the meantime along with the deepening of reforlll and the continuing perfection of socialist market economy system in China . a series of new problems and contradiction have arisen in the fields of economy politics and cuiture in the rural area, and the, majority ofthem belongs to those among the people, Therefore at the critical historical moment when we are saying farewell to the ninth five-year plan and marching into the tenth-five-year plan. how to correctly recognize and peoperiy tackle contradiction among people in the rural area remains a subject of great importance in the rural work at present. In the new historical period. the basic contents for contradictions among people in the rural area mainly include economic, political. ideological, social security and civil. contradictions. At the same time, these contradi- ctions display different ways of occurence and are characterized by a great deal of contradictions in material interests, intensifying of contraclition clashes and clarifying of group wntradictions. It is no doubt that contradictions among people in the courtryside are brought about by such factors as the system transfornation, the in completeness of reform, the reconstraction of the farmer-group, the weakening of the collective economy, the enlarged. gap between the poor and the rich in the countryside, the backwardnen of the farmers- viewpoint, and the like In order to corrctly recognize and properly tackle contradictions among people in the countryside. we must stick to the following five basic frrinciples i. e. the frincipies of focusing on economic construction, deepening the rura] reforiu, having faith in and relying on the masses, do[ng everything by starting from the facts and being civilized both in ideology and material, To correctly and properly tackle contradictions among people in the rural area at our present time. it. is also necessary to do the following word well, i. e. strengtheing the construction of grass-roots organizations,accelerating the pace of eonollIic construction in the rural area, relieving the farmers-burden to the largest extent, intensifying the degree of helping the poor, greatly pushing forward the process of democratic management at. the village level, improving the working style of the rural cadres, serving the people heart and soul, strengthening the construction of ideoloqicai civilization and improving the comprehensive quality of all farmers.
