This study puts forward the concept of regret tendency and its theoretical ideas. In comprehensive research at home and abroad, on the basis of investigation, through interviews, open questionnaires and other forms to collect data, compiled the adult regret tendency questionnaire. Based on a questionnaire to 343 subjects, identify the four dimensions of regrets tend to adults that will characteristics, emotional characteristics, cognitive characteristics and characteristics of real life attitude. And discusses the adult tended to regret and choice to maximize, regulating, the relationship between the overall sense of happiness. Data analysis, the following conclusions: (1) the different gender groups, and professional direction group there were significant differences in regret tendency; (2) no significant difference in regrets tend to different age groups; (3) choose to maximize, adjust the orientation, general well-being, gender, professional direction to adults regrets tended to have good predictive power, the choice to maximize the best predictive power.
