Abstract


With the rapid development of China's social and economic culture, the whole of vocational education in the basic education system more and more attention. A direct impact on the quality of vocational education to the training of personnel. Vocational schools afford to cultivate productive labor online vocational skills, qualified workers. English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is a major lesson of the vocational school, English for Specific Purposes quality of teaching is good or bad, determine the level of future production and the quality of workers. Of the authors of the paper as a vocational school, an English teacher, is particularly concerned about the development of vocational school English teaching. In this thesis, namely the initial results of an exploratory study of vocational school English for Specific Purposes Teaching made. This study reports the process and results of the survey of English teaching 376 students in three vocational schools, as well as interviews with 12 English teachers and 10 target positions practitioners. The quantitative analysis of the results of the survey and comprehensive analysis of the interview data, this study attempts to understand the current situation of English teaching in vocational schools, found that the main problems and find improved ways. The results of this study show that the main problem of the vocational school English teaching from four aspects: training objectives, teaching materials, students, teachers. After careful analysis of the existing problems, the authors put forward their own proposals and views on how to improve. The author believes that to improve the quality of English teaching, we must first of all from the angle of the training objectives needs analysis needs and learning needs analysis that the goal posts; followed by the use of ESP curriculum design theory and methods to develop English textbooks from students departure, combined with professional knowledge, help to enhance the interest in learning and to improve the practical application of the English, become an organic part of the students 'vocational ability; Again, ESP teaching offers the possibility to improve the students' interest and motivation to achieve, Finally, according to the the ESP teachers role established vocational teachers as students try to use English to obtain relevant information with their own professional and continue to experience success in the process of completion of professional tasks, provides inner motivation for learning; should have interdisciplinary knowledge, to cooperate with professional teachers and to participate in the design of teaching materials, thereby building characteristics of vocational English teachers. Over the years have not been given due attention, the authors hope that this study can make whatever contribution to the development of the field of view of the vocational schools, the teaching of English for Specific Purposes.
