Abstract


This paper examines Chinese students in English reading native language usage , aims to explore the Mother Tongue in Second Language Reading role and influence . 16 from the National Defense Science and Technology University students according to their level of English proficiency is divided into two groups and completed a different reading tasks. This study used a sound mind and recalled their interviews and other methods , a recorded reading thinking , specifically examines the language policy in the specific use of English reading , and to English, Reading Task Difficulty on to discuss the impact of language use . The main conclusions of this study are summarized as follows : 1. Chinese students in English reading very dependent on their mother tongue . The use of mother tongue thinking to some extent, can really help students understand the text. 2 levels of English students use their mother tongue in English reading and efficiency of the total amount of thinking differently . With the improvement of foreign language proficiency , students less dependent on the mother tongue , but the native language to help understand the efficiency increases. 3 Read the text also affect the difficulty of using the mother tongue is an important factor . With the increase in difficulty reading the text , the student's native language also increases the total use . Meanwhile, the students to use language recognition meaning, build article to the effect of gravity has decreased, but the use of monitoring and regulation of thinking Chinese increase in the share . 4 Second Language students in reading in their mother tongue held ambivalence . On the one hand they admit that they often use language to understand the text , and in the second language reading some of the words used in reading habits and reading strategies ; On the other hand , they believe in second language reading should avoid the use of mother tongue thinking . Based on some of the above conclusions , the teaching of English reading this article offers some suggestions. First, in the teaching of reading in English language should not be completely banned the use of . Secondly, the learners, in peacetime to maintain native reading on second language reading level increases also have some positive effect. Again, the level of second language learners , including vocabulary and grammar knowledge , on the success of second language reading plays an important role . Finally , the teacher reading in second language teaching should focus on students own judgment.
