Abstract


The left shift constructions is a cross- linguistic phenomenon , traditionally its research mainly limited to the generative linguistics . With the help of the theory of cognitive linguistics , try the reference point from the syntax , subjective , cognitive models to explore left shift configuration generation mechanism and justifications . EC Left shift constructions contrast , trying to find the interdependent relationship between language and cognition . The left shift constructions discussed in this article from the following three aspects positioning . Syntactically , it refers to the structure of a non- greetings go to the beginning of a sentence by a pronoun or another noun to fill the position . Semantics , the left shift component and replace it position the pronouns or another noun phrase has the same meaning . In addition, it is an independent structure , carry a lot of structural formula significance . Language is a window to explore human cognition , provides the key to grasp the nature of the human mind . First, the analysis can be learned from the Chinese and left shift construction characteristics , the Chinese left shift structure has a separate topic markers to identify the left shift noun ingredients , and the Chinese left-shift construction of syntactic form and the same refers to the relationship Construction freedom than English left shift . Fourth, fifth chapter with the syntax , subjective , cognitive point of reference model theory , according to English left-shift construction and Chinese left shift configuration generation mechanisms and cognitive motivation to explore , and CHAPTER V - FINAL expand EC Left shift constructions comparative analysis . Chapter VI and summarized the research and its applications, and make recommendations for further research .
