Abstract


Researching the poem with seven characters before Tang Dynasty, we always studied where was it originated from, how was it developed, the relationship between the poem and Yue Fu, case study from works and writers, etc.The introduction of this paper emphasize the achievement and shortage in these aspects. On that basis, the article has three parts. Chapter one discussed the origin of poem with seven characters. Through enumerated all kinds of theory of origin of poem with seven characters, I discussed the earliest exiting poem with seven characters. In my opinion, Folk and Chu Ci influence each other in communication process. This gave the important effect to the birth of poem with seven characters. And the conclusion was that literati’s works were real“Mid-wife”for poem with seven characters. Chapter two was the study of Yue Fu with seven characters. Firstly, the writer concluded seven characters’spread, content, structure and rhythm in Folk Song in Pre-Qin Period and Han Dynasty. And then, the writer analysed Yue Fu with seven characters in early Han Dynasty. Finally, combining with the wholly works with seven characters in Yue Fu, the writer gave us a vividly venation of poem with seven characters’changing. Chapter three was the study of scholar poem with seven characters through large of works. At the beginning of this chapter, the writer divided and defined the scholar poem with seven characters. Secondly, through contrasted and analysed the famous poems with characters, the article showed the wholly style and features of poem with seven characters before Tang Dynasty.
