Abstract


Banpo, an important site of pre-history tribal cultural heritage in Xi’an with large scale and well-preserved, was ascertained the first set of important cultural relics to protection. The research object in this thesis is Banpo cultural heritage. Based on current international cultural heritage preservation theories and experience, with the analysis to the value and content of the cultural heritage, the essay generally reviews the preservation history of Banpo cultural relics, and gives opinions to the shortcomings of current relics preservation work and analyzes the challenges we are facing now. It also has put forward some suggestions and viewpoints to some key issues of present Banpo relics preservation which includes: firstly, with the progress of cultural preservation theories and practice, it is necessary to reanalyze the value and content of Banpo relics; secondly, the key issue to the preservation work is how to keep the damages to the mausoleum area and historical environment by illegal construction within limits; thirdly, the extensive construction in the near future in historical environment posses great potential threats to current relics preservation; fourthly, the redemarcation of preservation, the recovery and maintenance of historical environment are important measures to ensure persistent preservation; and finally, combining with city development and seeking for mutual advantages are the strategies of preservation work.This essay is the prophase of the research to Banpo relics preservation programming.
