Cities , as the human’s main settlements, have already far beyond its original meaning. With the development of modern civilization and modern Hi-Tech, cities, especially metropolis have became the most centralized, model and lively places. For this reason, urban tourism formed by city scene , city conditions and customs , city culture and city amusement has became another great demand for people. Hanyang’s history is very long and also the scenic spots and historical sites are numerous. In order to change the backwardness of Hanyang district , develop proportionally with Hankou and Wuchang, we must excavate the tourism resources of Hanyang district, develop urban tourism to establish the cultural urban area. It has not merely the directive significance in theory, but the realistic meaning in society and economic development.Taking Hanyang district of Wuhan as an example, This paper probes into the correlative theories and practical application of urban tourism. The paper is divided into two major parts and five chapters. The first part is the basic theories, it based on the introduction of domestic and international scholars’ research since the end of 1990s, reviewed the latest development and existing problem in the urban tourism studies ,and at the same time the space layout theories is general reported. The second is the case and analysis. Based on the integrate analysis, comparative demonstration, qualitative and quantitative analysis and so on, according to concrete conditions , the author studies the driving, the developing mode, product series and its individuation of urban tourism in Hanyang. By the analysis of above, the emphases is how to plan and design urban tourism of Hanyang district ,and the development tactics are also be put forward by the author.
