Abstract

The protein kinase Akt is a protein serine / threonine kinase , because it has a relatively high homology with the protein kinase A and protein kinase C , was also named protein kinase B ( Protein kinase B, PKB) . It is also the viral oncogene expression product inside the cell , (v-Akt) homolog . There are three subtypes : Akt1, Akt2 and the Akt3 protein kinase Akt in mammals . The protein kinase Akt is a multi- domain protein , N-terminal PH domain , Center for the catalytic domain , C-terminal PKC modulation similar area . The PH domain and the lipid second messenger PIP 3 combination so that Akt is activated by translocation to the plasma membrane , the PH domain of Akt activation play an important function . The protein kinase Akt as a downstream molecule of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3-kinase) , which is widely involved in the regulation of cell function . The protein kinase Akt metabolism to promote protein synthesis , and promote glycogen transporter . Akt as a mediating cell survival signals important molecules , important regulatory role in the process of apoptosis , detailed
