Abstract


With the deepening of China’s reform and opening up as well as the economic development and China’ entry into the WTO, it is unavoidable that private enterprises will march into tourism, a competitive industry, and become its principal investor. The intervention of private enterprises is sure to inject a new force into the development of the tourism industry.In view of both domestic and overseas theories and practice as well as experience in terms of the tourism industry, this dissertation, based on the practice of China’s private enterprises’ investing in the tourism industry, centers around two core issues — the driving mechanism of the tourism industry and its investment mode — with an aim to be of some benefit to private enterprises’ investing in the tourism industry. This dissertation mainly covers the following aspects: first, there comes the definition of tourism and its compositions as well as the significance of developing tourism, the course taken in developing China’s tourism, and a basic theoretical study on the current situation of China’s tourism industry; next, an analysis is conducted on the status quo of private enterprises’ investing in the tourism industry and their functions, on the basis of which the dissertation probes into the driving mechanism of private enterprises’ investing in tourism from such two aspects as the internal drive and external drive; furthermore, the dissertation, starting with private enterprises’ investing in tourist resorts and taking the resource-protecting tourist resorts
