Abstract


With the economic relation of cross-strait getting closer, political relations having improved, more and more Taiwan-funded enterprises have invested directly in mainland China. Economic cooperation of cross-strait has showed an unprecedented new situation. In recent years the costs of resources, such as labor, land, etc. have increased unceasingly in eastern region of mainland. As a result, many Taiwanese businesses have tended to invest in central and western regions of mainland. Then, Chongqing-Taiwan industrial cooperation is facing new opportunities. In this background, this paper mainly analyses the motives and patterns of Chongqing-Taiwan electronic information industry cooperation. It sets cooperation in electronic information industry as the starting point of this study, and systematically summarizes the new situation, new background, new opportunities and new challenges of Chongqing-Taiwan electronic information industry cooperation. Then, the paper analyses the basis and motivation in the aspects of development process, factor endowment, investment environment and policy of electronic information industry from Taiwan and Chongqing respectively. The analysis results tell us that the electronic information industry of Chongqing and Taiwan are complementary in many fields, and the cooperation space is large. To take the personal computer as an example, the paper then discusses the cooperation patterns of Chongqing-Taiwan electronic information industry. The results show that the cooperation patterns have vertical division cooperation pattern, horizontal division cooperation pattern, whole industry-chain investment mode and resources integrated cooperation model. Finally, the article puts forward the corresponding countermeasures aimed at the incidental enterprises problem, the human resources problem and the enterprise financing problem in the transfer of Taiwan’s electronic information industry to Chongqing.Based on the analysis, this paper receives the following conclusions: first, the electronic information industry cooperation of Chongqing and Taiwan is feasible, and has great potential. Second, Chongqing-Taiwan electronic information industry cooperation will adopt the vertical division cooperation pattern firstly, then horizontal division cooperation pattern secondly from the point of cooperation process. And it will integrate the whole industry-chain investment mode and resources integrated cooperation model from the point of cooperation conformation. The innovations are that this article analyses the electronic information industry cooperation of Chongqing and Taiwan, which are of different political, economic and social system in one country range in-depth, which will enrich the content of regional economics. And the topic selection and the angle of this paper also have innovated.The research helps to enrich the content and method of regional economics, and is of great importance in putting up the electronic information industry cooperation of Chongqing and Taiwan and in constructing the cooperation patterns.
