Chinese society is in the transitional period, that is, transiting from a traditional one to a modern one. In the background, the article probes into the various changes brought about by social transition to the college studentsvalue and it also expounds the features and reasons of the concrete changes. On the basis of it, the article penetratingly analyzes the problems that exist in the value education of college students and inquires the tactics of it.This article has four parts: The first part elaborates the importance of value education in moral education of colleges and universities. The second part comprehensively analyzes the track and concrete features of the changing of college students’value. It confirms that the main stream of the changing is healthy, active and zealous. At the same time it points out there are some problems deserving attention among these features. The article further analyzes the objective reasons why so many changes happen to the college students’value. The third part probes into the existing problems in the value education and points out that some problems in the position, contents, course, carrier and methods, etc. of the college students’value education merit our attention. Connecting the problems existing in it, the fourth part expounds the tactics of value education of college students in the transitional period. The article discusses these problems which we must solve in the value education. According to the concrete demands that Party Central Committee and State Council make to college students’ideological and political work, we must strive to improve the aim, effectuality, attraction and appeal of the value education of college students, raise the moral education position of it, enrich and adjust the contents of it, open the paths and carriers of it, improve the methods of it. Only in this way can we help college students reject the irrational influence, reduce the confusion and deviation in the choice of value. We can make college students the wholly developed talented people; make them contribute for building the modern powerful country and rejuvenating the Chinese nation in the twenty-first century.
