Abstract


The choice of paths and goals decides the future of a country. Path-choosing is the unification of the regularity and pro-activity of the history. The splendid history of CPC is actually the history in which CPC indefatigably pursued the great goal of socialism and communism. Since the establishment of PRC, particularly in the new era of opening-up and reform and socialist construction, it is not only a significant theoretical subject but also a meaningful realistic problem to hold a correct attitude towards the reasons and paths to the socialist road by CPC. Based on the history of CPC, this paper centers about the theme of choosing the socialist road and aims to make a relatively objective and comprehensive analysis of the matters relevant to the socialist road CPC has chosen and focused. It is expected that this may enlighten and benefit the future development of the socialist road in China.This paper is made up of four chapters. Starting from the historical practice of sticking to the socialist road by three generations of leaders of CPC, Chapter One makes a systematic observation of the historical process of CPC’s persistence in the socialist road since the establishment of PRC. Chapter Two combines the history and the reality to discuss the reasons for the path-choosing by CPC from such four perspectives as guiding ideal, historical requirement, realistic effects and legislative guarantee. In the third chapter, the basic path to socialist road is given: the Four Fundamental Principles is the essential political guarantee; the establishment of Chinese characteristic socialism is the realistic carrier of the socialist road; the right solution to the two systems is the environmental requirement of the socialist road. Chapter Four mainly touches upon the great influence of Chinese characteristic socialism on Marxism, Chinese nation and international communist movement.
