Abstract


Objective: To investigate the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and microvessel density (MVD) and colorectal cancer prognosis . Method :1995.12 - 1999.10 , Shandong Province the Juxian Hospital General Surgery, to participate in a national colorectal portal vein cannulation 5-FU chemotherapy prevention of liver metastases collaborative research , collecting 80 patients with complete data colorectal surgical specimens , PV-9000 immune detection technology group , detected 80 cases of colorectal cancer , 25 cases of cancer tissues and 25 normal colon tissue expression of VEGF and microvessel density ( MVD ) . Results: normal colorectal tissues and blank and alternative control sections no immunoreactive signal . The VEGF staining seen in cancer pulp and membrane epithelium and adjacent vascular endothelial cells , a small amount of paraneoplastic also visible positive expression showed a uniform brown particles . VEGF-positive tumor cells are unevenly distributed, the stronger the degree of coloring regions of tumor cell infiltration . VEGF expression in 80 cases of colorectal cancer tissues positive in 53 cases , the positive rate was 66.25% . VEGF expression in positive cases , the positive rate was 16% in the mucosal tissue of 25 cases of adjacent mucosal tissue VEGF expression in colorectal carcinoma with paraneoplastic significant difference ( P lt; 0.01 ) . VEGF expression in colorectal cancer is significantly higher than the organization for the next normal tissue and cancer (P lt; 0.05), but no difference between the latter two ( P lt; 0.05 ) . MVD in colorectal cancer tissues was significantly higher than that of normal tissue and cancer tissue ( P lt; 0.05 ) . MVD value of the maximum 39 , minimum 6 , an average of 19.23 ± 1.11, with a median of 27. MVD in colorectal cancer histological type and degree of differentiation (P gt; 0.05), is closely related to the depth of invasion (P lt; 0.05), and infiltrating deeper the higher the value of MVD . MVD in tumors in DukesC rate higher than the AB period (P lt; 0.05). MVD values ??than those without lymph node metastasis in lymph node metastasis (29.88 ± 5.64) (13.85 ± 7.38) was significantly higher ( P lt; 0.05 ) . MVD value of VEGF expression positive colorectal cancer patients was significantly higher than the negative VEGF expression (9.57 ± 3.68 vs 21.82 ± 6.24 , P lt; 0.05 ) , between VEGF expression and MVD was a significant positive correlation ( r = 0.767 , P lt ; 0.01 ) , 5 - year survival rate of colorectal With the strengthening of VEGF expression
