Abstract

Legal English common law countries is based on an ordinary English , gradually formed in the legislative and judicial process . Statute of language as a branch , has its own unique language style , one of the most important characteristics is the right word . However , legal provisions and judicial practice , the legal English use of fuzzy words abound. How to deal with the contradiction between both fuzzy and accuracy , it is one of the significance of this research project . In common law countries , legal English is also known as the language of the law . Foreign scholars study the language of the law since the 1970s , mainly in three aspects : First , the language of the law as a process ; legal language as a tool ; linguists intervene legal interactive language evidence applied research . Foreign scholars study the fuzzy language , summed up , including both research : basic theoretical research and the fuzzy language and other disciplines relations . The foreign scholars fuzzy legal language study is to explore the relationship between legal language vagueness and accuracy as well as the reasons fuzziness . Research with domestic , foreign scholars to the presence of ambiguity is contrary to the ideal of the rule of law as one of the research purpose .
