Abstract


Leguminous plant licorice is commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine herbs . Studies have shown that licorice pharmacologically active substances is glycyrrhizic acid and its aglycone glycyrrhetinic acid , glycyrrhizic acid metabolized in the body , under the action of the enzyme hydrolyzed to glycyrrhetinic acid play a role of the biological activity of the drug , but when the long-term heavy glycyrrhizic acid or glycyrrhetinic acid products cause is called a false aldosteronism side effects of the disease , characterized by sodium retention , and potassium excretion increased, causing a range of side effects of edema , hypertension, hypokalemia . Glycyrrhetinic acid efficacy , reduce or eliminate its toxic side effects , the paper glycyrrhetinic acid derivatives , including a total of three parts : the first part : glycyrrhetinic acid structure transformation .
