Objective: To observe the impact of chronic renal failure on hearing and explore its mechanism . Methods : Male Wistar rats were 29 and 12 days were randomly divided into blank control group of six , eight 12 - day experimental group , 24 days blank control group of six , 24 - day experimental group 9 . The experimental group adenine (300mg/Kg) gavage , resulting in chronic renal failure models . Evaluation of the animals in each group to listen to changes in the function of brain stem auditory evoked potential (BAEP) ; each group were measured renal function ( serum Cr BuN ) , serum inorganic ions (K sup>, Na sup > Ca 2 sup > P 3 < / sup> ), serum trace elements ( the Fe 3 < / sup> Zn 2 < / sup > ) ; kidney tissue morphology observed under light microscope and kidney collagen content was measured ; immunohistochemical observation of NOS II expression in the cochlea . Results: As renal damage , serum of Cr , BuN , P , 3 < / sup> was significantly higher (P lt; 0.001), the serum K < / sup >, Ca 2 < / significantly lower sup>, Fe 3 sup>, Zn 2 sup> ; of BAEP threshold gradually increased , the incubation period is gradually extended between of Ⅰ ~~ V wave period significantly longer ( p lt; 0.05 ) ; optical endoscopic renal tissue damage is increasing gradually increased fibrosis ; cochlear tissues by immunohistochemistry , blank control group NOS II in the stria vascularis , inner and outer hair cells , spiral ganglion cells have different levels of weakly positive expression , with the renal damage , the various parts of the expression gradually increased , the strongest expression of vascular stria , turn spiral ganglion cells , the inner and outer hair cells . Conclusion: Chronic renal failure can cause deafness, The reason may be related to the toxic effects of metabolites , electrolyte imbalance , and trace elements to reduce factors . Renal failure after increased cochlear NOS activity , NO large amount of toxic damage , stria vascularis , spiral ganglion cells , the inner and outer hair cells , may be an important mechanism of chronic renal failure caused deafness .
