Abstract


As the most forefront and active industry in the market economy, retail business must grasp the pulse of the ever-changing market. Simultaneously, the informationization construction adapting to the retail business is also the most leading and active in the area of technology applications. Retail Information Systems are now confronted with the biggest ever challenge after an ever-increasing development more than two decades. A variety of data and sensitive information in retail information systems have become an important goal of hackers and business spies. For the retail industry, security challenges usually utilizes the security drawbacks such as the relative difficulty for client managements, the disunification of the users’identities, the loopholes of password verifications, and so on.The dissertation firstly surveys the state of the art of information system security in large-scale retail enterprise groups, and secondly discusses the PKI system and the hardware digital certificates in detail. Furthermore, the dissertation considers the practical demands of large-scale retail enterprise groups, and develops a PKI system using hardware digital certificates. And also a hardware digital certificate management system is designed, which is based on the real-life IT management practice in large-scale retail enterprise groups, is suited for their management model, and can provide much convenience for non-IT users.The PKI system design adopted in this dissertation has some certain scalability. This design methodology can provide some helpful experience for those large-scale and multi-region enterprises. The implementation results illustrate that the PKI system and hardware digital certificate management system developed in this dissertation can efficiently enhance the security of the inner IT system in a enterprise, improve the efficiency of the inner IT management in enterprises, and are widely appreciated by enterprises.The PKI system in large-scale retail enterprise groups only provides a security foundation for the enterprises’information system security. The submitted dissertation only deals with the design of the enterprises’PKI system, and develops a hardware digital certificate management system. Some further researches are expected to increase the security level of information system by combining PKI system with hardware digital certificates.
