Abstract


With the development of social economy and technology, it has been become a general demand for most people to obtain useful information at any time at any place; the mobile computing technique makes it possible. Now, many kinds of mobile terminals such as PDA, smart phone have appeared, these mobile devices are capable of some complicated computing and information querying and more convenient compared with PC; At the same time, some commercial embedded mobile database management system products which were tailed to these mobile devices have emerged, these techniques enable us to obtain information anytime, anywhere.Mobile database technique should be application-specific, particular architecture should be adopted on different application contexts. In order to satisfy the unique demand in flood prevention, this paper designs and implements a flood prevention information management system on PDA based on mobile database, extending the flood prevention database service to mobile devices, thus, the flood prevention related persons can get updated information and can query history data anywhere, anytime. The most important part of this paper is designing and implementing a middle-level software component based on SQL Server 2000 DBMS and SQL Server CE mobile DBMS, using many kinds of programming technique(including embedded system programming, mobile database technology, mobile communication technology, network programming and XML technology) . This component realizes the Push-Style information service based on SQL Server CE, expanding the function of this mobile database management system.The Push-style information service implemented in this paper can supply people with updated information when the required information is real-time changing, it has a bright future.
