Abstract


The relationship between fairness and efficiency is an eternal issue in the history of human being .Correct understanding of the relationship between fairness and efficiency in socialist market economy and correctly dealing with the relationship of improving economic efficiency and realizing distributive fairness are very vital to the overall, harmonious and sustainable development of our country.The thesis , focusing on the fairness and efficiency in socialist market economy, is divided into three parts. The first part illustrates the concept of fairness and efficiency. On the basis of retrospecting the classic views on fairness and efficiency at home and abroad, the author gives a new understanding of distributive fairness in socialist market economy.The second part mainly concentrates on the relationship between fairness and efficiency. The author brings forth his view on "efficiency first , fairness second" based on the view of other people on the relationship between fairness and efficiency.The last part mainly illustrates , with some figures and examples, the challenges to fairness and efficiency in our country now and the negative effect which may be caused by the problems. At last, the author gives some feasible ways to improve economic efficiency and distributive fairness based on the analyses above.
