Abstract

With the development of science and technology, publishing industry has also entered into the technology revolution never happened before. The first conception of electronic publishing was brought forward in the 1950s. With the lapse of time, electronic publishing and electronic publication have received people’s recognition increasingly. Now traditional publication and electronic publication are facing the same readership, sharing in their reading time and consuming funds. Electronic publishing has already become a new economic point of growth in Chinese publishing industry development.Chinese electronic publishing industry started from the late 1980s. It only has a history of over ten years, but the achievement it receives is undoubted. This paper takes the developing process of Chinese electronic publishing industry as breakthrough point, dividing it into three stages: rising period, instant development period and transformation period. The article concludes the background, evolution of technique, general situation of development and industry management situation in every period of Chinese electronic publishing industry separately. By this means we can see the road and laws of the development of electronic publishing in China as a whole. On this base, author analyses the actuality and main problems of China’s electronic publishing, airing own views about some related problems.Part one is an examination on the development history of Chinese electronic publishing industry, by the journey of "Chinese character information processing technology of computer—multimedia technology —network publishing technology". The history of Chinese electronic publishing industry is closely bound up with the development of electronic technology. We can say that every change of technology is the impetus of the development of Chinese electronic publishing industry. According to the developing track of technology, we divide Chinese electronic publishing industry into three stages. On the base of full and accurate data, this part concludes the symbol event,statistical data, prize cases and industry management situation in every period.Part two gives a brief introduction to the actuality and main problems of Chinese electronic publishing, as well as the representation and causes of the problems. The actuality includes four parts: China’s electronic publishing organization and issuance network in existence, distribution pattern of electronic publication’s subject, market management situation of electronic publication and imports and exports situation of Chinese electronic publishing.Part three puts forward some suggestions to the main problems of Chinese electronic publishing. In order to speed up the development healthily and successively, we need start with 5 aspects, such as ideas, management, product, market and persons. We should try to sharpen awareness, Tighten macro -control and consummate the laws and regulations, as well as carry out strict standardization management and quality control, breed the market and bring up multiple persons actively.
