The emergence of computer network technology and the rapid development of GIS has injected new vigor and vitality , from the hardware resource sharing, remote data exchange to the software process with parallel processing , distributed computing , so that GIS has been broader and deeper applications, and the resulting some new technology - the Internet-based WebGIS. It is also currently developing a new trend of GIS technology . Java language provides a platform-independent and distribution, it is considered to create an excellent business platform solutions , especially for the development of such a distributed WebGIS application system . It provides a J2EE was Java2 -based multi- core distributed application development model and a series of technical specifications . . Java technology and WebGIS technologies, will be able to give full play to the advantages of Java technology , making WebGIS be more widely used. In this paper, based on J2EE WebGIS system conducted in-depth research, the main work and the results are as follows : First, the concept and characteristics of WebGIS are analyzed and discussed , and then by analyzing WebGIS computing model , implementation techniques , and map publishing solution that combines WebGIS and Java technology features , implementation techniques for the existing shortcomings and deficiencies , proposed a Java technology-based B / S mode of WebGIS solutions . Secondly , the article on Java, J2EE technology and WebGIS combination of in-depth research, we propose a three-tier structure based on J2EE WebGIS system models. Follow this system model , in-depth study of the system's data presentation layer , Web services layer , GIS application service layer and data services layer implementation of the key technologies , and the ArcIMS GIS component based GIS application on the system 's core services layer part - GIS EJB encapsulated and implementation , and to achieve a simple map of China inquiry system. Finally, the article for this system from the scalability, cross-platform application for an overall analysis .
